Strategic Creative Director · Brand Systems for Technical Products · Southern California

Andrew Mundi

Not many Creative Directors have jumped out of planes and shipped Sega games. I build brands that keep working after I hand them over — from the Dolby logo to the interface that became Microsoft's UltimateTV.

BRAND IDENTITYDESIGN SYSTEM

Dolby Brand System

Owned the global Dolby brand: created the marketing toolkit hundreds of licensees worldwide used to stay on-brand, refreshed the iconic logo, and directed 5–10 designers and 5–15 freelancers across print, digital, trade show, and experiential. The system outlived my tenure by eight years.

About

Integrated Strategy.
Every Medium.

Andrew Mundi on the Southern California coast

Integrated creative strategist and multidiscipline designer across entertainment, gaming, technology, and global brands. ArtCenter honors graduate. 82nd Airborne veteran.

I speak both languages — design vision and technical execution — so I can bridge art and engineering teams and ship work that holds up. What breaks on big projects is rarely the craft; it's the seams between disciplines. That's the work I do.

I learned to draw from Burne Hogarth and to build from the masters at Sega — and I've spent a decade teaching it forward as adjunct faculty at SFSU.

How I see it.

Most creative problems aren't creative problems — they're relationship problems. I look beyond the deliverables to the relationships between them.

Brand ↔ Aesthetics (Expression)

Strategy ↔ Engineering (Systems)

Aesthetics ↔ Strategy (Vision)

Brand ↔ Engineering (Architecture)

Strategy ↔ Brand (Identity)

Aesthetics ↔ Engineering (Integration)

My job is to strengthen those relationships and build systems that continue creating value long after launch. I built that kind of system at Guitar Center in 2010, out of XML and Flash, so a team could ship without me.

The tools have changed. The relationships haven't.
